Data Transmission
- Data transmission refers to the process of sending and receiving digital or analog data between two or more devices over a communication medium.
Types of Data Transmission
1. Simplex Transmission
- Data flows only in one direction.
- No two-way communication is possible.
- Example: Television broadcasting, Radio transmission.

2. Half-Duplex Transmission

- Data flows in both directions, but only one at a time.

- Devices take turns in sending and receiving data.

- Example: Walkie-talkies, CB radios.
3. Full-Duplex Transmission
- Data flows in both directions simultaneously.
- Increases efficiency compared to half-duplex.
- Example: Telephone communication, Video calls.
Serial Transmission
- Data is sent bit by bit (one at a time) in sequence over a single communication channel.
- Slower but suitable for long-distance communication.
- Example: USB, RS-232 communication, Fiber optics.
Parallel transmission
- Multiple bits are transmitted simultaneously using multiple channels.
- Faster but limited to short distances due to signal interference.
- Example: Internal CPU communication, Older printer cables
