Data:
- Data is the raw material that can be processed for any computing machine.
- For example − Employee name, Product name, Name of the student, Marks of the student, Mobile number, Image etc. -
- Facts, statistics used for reference or analysis. Number, character, symbols, images etc., which can be processed by a computer.
- Data must be interpreted, by a human or machine, to derive meaning.
- So data is meaningless unless processed.
- Information is the data that has been converted into more useful or intelligent form.
- It is the processed, organized and structured data
- For example: Report card sheet.
